There are drawbacks to applying the cat directly to your face

There is a group on facebook called "I want to apply this cat directly to my face" (or something like that) and well.. I applied two cats directly to my face this weekend. One is a muted calico with a cattitude and the other is a black house panther who must be told how handsome he is and cuddled like a baby.
It wasn't until this afternoon that my sinuses said "Woah, woman.. Too much cat! Too much cat!" I arrived home and promptly put away the food stuffs, took two benadryls and went to sleep!
I still feel a little sinus pressure, but that should subside after while.
How was your weekend?

I am sure your cats love to cuddle, too. But, yeah. Good thing neither decided to turn your skin into swiss chease.

Mama cat was kind of like that. She really fought tooth and nail at first, and you really had to be quick like a rabbit if you had to pick her up. Now I can hold her for several minutes, and when she wants down, she'll get down. Only to body rub and meow afterwords. Almost like as if she wanted to be picked up again. @ScribbledAdNauseum

@kaylachan Yes, that's exactly like the muted calico. I pick her up and hold her for several minutes and when either I put her down or she gets down on her own.. She'll come right up and either rub up against me or sit on my lap or beside me. She has to give the illusion that shes mad.

The muted calico will act as if she doesn't like to be held, but she stays in your arms and only meows her displeasure once you've put her down again.

Black cats are the most cuddly in my experience. What a cute name for the cat, "Spooky".
Thank You, I am sure they will be. I already feel ten times better than when I walked in the door.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I'm not highly allergic to animals, but I still have to be careful.

@kobesbuddy My dad was allergic to cats. We had several cats growing up but the one that was considered mine.. Well Junior knew my dad was allergic to him or didn't like him and so what did Junior do? He slept on my dad's pillow when my dad was at work.

I understand that. Cats are a lot more work and I believe people are more allergic to cats than dogs.

It was pretty good all things considered. I was worried about my dad though, and friend was getting on my nerves as usual. Other than that it was good.

I love cats and I love cuddling them so I just deal with the sinus-y stuff.
My weekend was great. Spent Saturday with my best friends / sisters.

@prinzcy I wish I had a cat but I do not. I have to wait until I am with friends to hold and cuddle their cats.

No, I mean that I picked up two of the cats and hugged them to me. I kissed one of them on the forehead.

I put my head on their neck or kiss their forehead. Well, not every one I come across just the ones I know are inside cats.

I would not do this with every cat, just the ones that I know. They are tame and wouldn't swat at me.

@LadyDuck Oh yes, I remember hearing a few months ago that there was fear animals could transmit it. Strangely enough, the reports I heard were always about dogs and not cats or other domesticated animals.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Well, with Covid in the air, I do not want to take risks because it's not at all sure if animals can transmit it. I surely do not fear to be scratched... this is why I do not place cats near my face.

I would need more than two benadryls to give me relief from cat allergies.
My weekend was exhausting, as tournament paintball season started back up with practices and tryouts this weekend. My body hurts all over from all the running and diving and other drills we did all weekend.

I guess I do have cat allergies but I'm not around them enough to really feel it. I thought paintball season was more in the spring and summer?

@moffittjc Ah I see. My cousins used to do that, though I think they only really participated for one year. It seemed like a lot of fun though.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Paintball season runs February through November. Practices begin in January. The first tournament is at the beginning of February. The only break we really get is in December.

I have not heard of the saying you mentioned. I have one cat and I get up close and personal when want to talk to her. I also tell her how cute she is. I am glad I have no sinus problems or allergies to animals. Take care and hope you are feeling better now.

@Hannihar Nope, I haven't been near cats. I take two benadryl nightly when i feel that I need it. Sometimes that's three times a week and sometimes I go months without using it.

Have you been near cats since you took the allergy medicine that cleared up your sinuses? How often do you have to take it?

My husband is allergic to cats but lived with one when he was living with his parents. His nose was always red and runny. I had an OK weekend. How was yours?
