Being a techer especially a primary teacher is a very difficult task indeed. You need to be very good because it is your work that determines the future generation.it is the duty f teacher to instil all good qualities into the boy to make him a better person for the society.A primary school teaher will have more impact because she is the one who is breathing into him the first specks of knowledge.Make sure that the kids starts the race in right direction.
I am very happy witht he schooling i recieved and i firmly do believe that whatever i have attained todya is because of my teachers and parents.

''Being a teacher is such a privilege. You actually play a part in opening up the potential of children in your care,''
As a primary school teacher, you play a key role in the social and intellectual development of students between the ages of six and twelve. Your main role is to plan and deliver learning activities that meet your students needs. As well, you are responsible for their supervision and wellbeing while they are in your care.
Maureen, who has made the change from teaching in a classroom to private tutoring, says,
''It's such a gift to be working with children. Together with parents and the community you are playing a part in shaping the minds of future decision makers, and creators. It's so rewarding to watch them develop in the learning environment you create for them. At the same time however, it can be stressful. You have to gain their trust and respect and instil the benefits of self discipline.''
Traits Of A Good Teacher
A primary school teacher requires a number of skills, abilities and a very broad knowledge base.
Communication skills are critical in gaining the support of parents, the wider public and fellow teachers.
And, if you can't communicate with your students, there's no way you can be an effective teacher.
Being creative and organised is essential when planning daily classes. Providing a stimulating environment with a wide range of resources is an important part of facilitating learning. Maureen says that it is crucial for teachers to extend their teaching abilities and talents. This she says helps prevent teaching methods from becoming stale and in turn, creates a more exciting environment in which students can learn.
Along with good teaching and disciplinary practice, successful classroom management relies on the teacher's capacity to accommodate differences between students. Teachers need to be aware of different abilities and learning styles as well as cultural differences and expectations.
Maureen says that some of her students are more challenging than others, but she enjoys a challenge. It's very rewarding for her when students put in 110 per cent effort, particularly when it is an area of learning that they are experiencing difficulty with.
A dedicated teacher will identify students that are in need of extra help or those that need to be extended and plan appropriate programs for them.
''In any activity I plan for my students, I am working towards developing the skills, the knowledge and the attitudes they need to be able to access and understand information. I believe I will have served them well, if I have developed their capacity to problem solve in any learning situation,'' says Maureen.
Parent Participation Prompted
An increasingly important role for a primary teacher is to encourage the parents of their students to participate in their child's learning process. Teachers continue to set and correct homework, evaluate student progress and discuss results with students, parents and other teachers. They also participate in staff meetings, after-school activities as well as courses or workshops for their own continuing professional development.
Currently, the employment situtation for primary school teachers is best described as average. More than 70 per cent of teachers work in the metropolitan area and there continues to be a higher demand for teachers in regional areas. To encourage teachers to work in remote areas, there are a number of incentives offered, such as permanency or a guaranteed transfer to the metropolitan area, financial assistance and subsidised housing in country areas.
Most primary school teachers work in public or private schools. However, there are positions available in various other institutions like museums, community services and health organisations and in specialist areas such as curriculum or education support. Most work is undertaken indoors, but during excursions, field trips and other activities, teachers spend some time outdoors.
The introduction of computers and laptops into the classroom is causing teaching methods to change. Not only do teachers now require a high level of computer literacy, but their methods of teaching are also changing as they are required to facilitate online learning.
