Weight Loss Journey - Day 13

I am back to share about my weight loss journey today....let me just say it now, it was a cheat day. I don't really have a weigh in - I stepped on the scale but saw the number went pu again so I didn't bother recording it on my app. Blood sugars: Fasting was 183 or something like that. Didn't check again. I usually don't when I eat carbs because I know it will be high. I was just frustrated and needed a break today. Maybe I can just keep the "cheat days" to the days I go visit my great-grandma every 2 weeks; that way I keep 2 weeks in between cheat days. What did I ate? Well, I started out the day good. I had a built bar - it is more like a low carb candy bar though, however I was in a hurry this morning. Then, had 2 chicken strips and a handful of fries for lunch at my great-grandma's. She had bought some donuts, so I had one for dessert. Then...for dinner we went to Arctic Circle (it is new here). I had 2 pieces of halibut (breaded & fried of course). I had fries, but gave quite a few of them to my husband. Did have some ice cream too. So yes, a lot of calories and carbs. I just need to make sure I am back on plan tomorrow. I don't have the macros or anything for today - but at least I am sharing what I had. Did you have anything bad today? Photo is mine, I colored it in one of those coloring apps.

I'm sorry the scale went up. If you keep your cheat days to one every two weeks, you should start seeing positive results on the scale. The scale went up for me too today. However, I didn't cheat yesterday.

@MommyOfEli2013 It was kind today. Even with all I ate yesterday.

It is okay, I expected it...the scale is not being kind to me this year. Not sure if I can even get by with one cheat day a month...but I can't stick to this way of eating without having something I enjoy once in a while. Sorry the scale went up for you too...sometimes it can happen for unknown reasons.

It's okay for a cheat day. It helps keep you going.

For my blood sugar it is not so good...but one day is better than the 2-3 month long cheat day I did last year.

A cheat day is good. Sometimes there are other food you want to try as well.

Keeping your cheat days to one every 2 weeks sounds great. I had chicken nuggets and a baked sweet potato.

Yes for now that is what I will probably do....then maybe eventually go to once a month, once every 2 months, etc... Your meal sounds good, except I'd have a regular baked potato :)

A nutritionist once told me that it's easier to eat everything you like in moderation than have a cheat day. You will most likely over eat and all the hard work you put in during the week is down the drain. My advice, eat simple and balanced e.g chicken, vegetables and rice...avoid deep fried foods and sugary baked goods and drink lots of water. Add your workout and all the extra weight will just fall off. The secret is when you eat breakfast, lunch and supper between 8 am and 7pm (no late night eating) you will feel full throughout the day, you won't even want any deserts or sweets.

I don't eat veggies. Also can't eat what I like in moderation because I can't normally eat carbs.
