One thing that bugs me is when people find out about a medication you're taking and give you all the reasons you should not take it and one of those reasons is because it had a negative effect on them. I'm in pain so I am willing to try anything the doctor's give me.
Does it bug you when people focus on the negative and all that? I know they're looking out for me, but it's still annoying.

People should not tell you whether you should take a medication or not. That is up to you and your doctor. I would say they do not know what they are talking about and just want to make a comment.

If you like and trust your doctor listen to the doctor and not someone else. The doctor should know while others love to give their opinions.

@Hannihar Exactly. I love my doctors. All the doctors in the office work together and are super nice.

I can relate to that.
I never disclose the prescribed medications which I take, its my and my doctor's business only.
I do not even say anything about the vitamins and minerals that I take.
That keeps people from flapping their gums when its not needed.

@star_disgate For me it came naturally, but for some it is an age acquired technique.

@Juliaacv I get in too much trouble with it. I am an open book.

I need to learn not to disclose stuff so much.

It really bothers me when people criticize me. So, now what I do is my business.

People are too opinionated these days. Sometimes that can be good, but other times it can be a bad thing.

I wholly agree with you. Fortunately those are never close friends. I take some pills but, foe that reason, never comment them with others.

I have learned that I don't have too many close friends. I have learned not to trust anyone.

Yes it does. I know I can be one of those people with my friends, but usually after they start to complain about something they're taking. That's when I'll tell them to talk to their doctor about it.
But I've had that happen to me all of the time. Everyone seems to think they're a doctor.

@star_disgate We have to pay attention to these effects when we take medications.

That's how my fiancé is. He took one of my pain pills because he couldn't get into a doctor. It knocked him out for a few days. If he has to take something like that, he makes sure he has his schedule free or asks for the smallest dose possible.

Also, one of the meds I am on, my grandpa is on. He can't take the dose I am on, It makes him depressed. For me, it doesn't do that.
