Since I now live in an island. I have decided to develop new hobbies and interests. So I went ahead and bought watercolour kit from Amazon. I know it’s not much as I have no background in watercolour. But I enjoyed making this today. Hopefully I can improve in it as I go along.

I like your choice of colours. This would make a good design style for wallpaper, fabric or ceramics, I can see your design wrapped round a mug, for example, or repeated as an edging for a table cloth or bedspread.

Awwww thank you. I am actually just basing stuff on YouTube tutorials. But I’m adding my own touch to it. If I master it on paper I might just try it on other objects as you are saying.

Well I am very open to learning. This pandemic age we need to have some indoor hobbies to substitute the outdoor ones. Although the new place I am in is covid free.

@hereandthere He can’t visit me yet since UK is not covid free if he decides to visit he’d have to be quarantined for 14 days.

I'm sure you'll improve as you have more practice but it's very attractive as it is.

Thank you Judy. It’s my new island hobby as Guernsey is a small island. I don’t want to get bored.

That's wonderful! I also started playing with watercolor (without any background in art) some time ago and it was a very pleasant and relaxing activity.

Yeah almost meditative even. Like I feel like I empty my mind from stress and anxiety and all my attention is focused on my painting. I do wish I studied art as a kid but we weren’t wealthy.

@ellie925 Oh you it would ruin it. It some people do enjoy what they do. And I think most artists are like that.

@flapiz exactly, like meditation. Maybe if it was a profession, it would be more stressful.

Thank you Jenara I was watching a YouTube tutorial on it and well it didn’t turn out as pretty as the tutorial but I’m allowing myself to be a newbie and not being too hard on myself.

The most important this is you enjoy it. Besides, art is subjective. What we don't see as interesting, might be really interesting to others.

Oh yeah if all else fails, it can be classed as abstract.

@flapiz These days painting can be anything it depends on how you interpret it so it doesn't matter if it looks professional or not what matters how happy you are when you finished it.
