Pork Chops and Cornbread Dinner

Decided on baked pork chops, green beans and cornbread for dinner.
I could eat just cornbread and butter. I enjoy all types of bread.
I baked pork chops and decided on green beans for the vegetable. An easy dinner and very good.
Still a light rain falls. All day now. The rain makes it feel colder than it actually is.
This dinner should hit the spot. Then maybe a movie later.

Thats sounds yummy. I am not cooking tonight, I had Jersey Mike's delivered for lunch and I am not hungry

We really could use some rain ourselves, but it's January, it's winter and that makes it our dry season. While I personally don't care for corn bread, I do like pork chops and some veggies.

i 'dore cornbread, too. who needs anythin' other'n butter? oh, honey 'tis good, too, lol. 'tis finally startin' to release somethin' from the sky. kinda sounds like 'ntermittent sleet? surfaces 've a fine dew 'cross 'em. i'm giddy o'er the prospect! fer here, any moisture 'tis better'n none. i might not think so tomorrow though's i need to get hay/grain....possibly'll be utilizin' the wheelbarrow so's not to tear 'p the delicate pasture. cross that bridge when i get there :)

@CarolDM 'twas very short lived, though't tried so hard. e'en 'd a massive flash 'f lightnin' followed by a clap 'f thunder. 'bout 8 miles 'way. sunshine today'n very brisk, bitter cold winds. got 'nother front comin'. looks's though the western side 'f the state'n mountains'll be all that benefit from either. which's 'lright, the whole state 'tis'n severe drought 't present. those mountain snows direly needed to feed waterways come spring.

That sounds like a yummy dinner. I made a meatloaf, Bob Evans mashed potatoes with gravy, fried green beans, deviled eggs, and corn bread, but mine was fried. I was so glad to be home and able to cook a good meal.

i have never made cornbread in an iron skillet I always make it in a baking dish. Is it better?

Gotta give props to my dear Mother and Grandmother. This is all they cooked in. My sister's pan was handed down to me, which was my mother's. It is very heavy of course but it has much better flavor and memories for me. Crisp around the edges.
