If anyone has followed me here, anyone is well aware I am just a sucker for Chinese food. And tonight, I am having Chinese food delivered from our favorite place in town, China King. The same place we always order from. Why go anywhere else if you like what they have, right? I ordered 2 orders of spring rolls (that will give us 4 total), and a 21 count order of baby shrimp. (Not necessarily Chinese, but very good.) I also got a quart of shrimp fried rice. Yummy. And then the main dishes. On both of the combination platters I got pork fried rice and egg rolls. One platter will be beef with broccoli (that's mine) and General Tso's Chicken (that's the wifey's). I also had the typical coupon for an 8 count order of crab Rangoon, so that is coming too. All said, $50.39 with a 20% tip. This is going to be delicious. What's going on your dinner table tonight?

It has been ages since I have had fish sticks. But I do like them. Might have to pick up a bag soon. I don't mind General Tso's chicken. But the wife absolutely loves it. From time to time I do make it from scratch and it is very good.

@LindaOHio I always have a taste for both. Just something about these two things, it's hard to ever NOT be in the mood for either.

Pretty much almost anything Chinese I am a sucker for, but these are all my regular go-to's. Tuscan white bean soup sounds good. Not sure if I have ever had that one.

I don't know, but that's a lot. When we order out, my husband and I usually get a pint of fried rice. Shrimp and chicken for me, and the house special for him. We haven't had it in years. FUnny enough, the other day I was just asking about China star, our local Chinese restaurant we often get delivery from. It'll be morning before I can even get started cooking but I'm looking at possibly munching on some cookies or something.

@porwest Now I'm starting to miss it. I don't think I'd be able to aford it at today's prices.

We like to have plenty of leftovers when it comes to Chinese food. It's so good, and some of it, after it marinates a bit it's even better. Great for lunches and snacks too.

@kaylachan It's not as expensive as some restaurant fare. But it's not necessarily cheap either.

I love Chinese food but have not had any in a long time. If I could afford it I would probably have Chinese at least twice a week. I had some French fries and a hot dog,

We were late home from the movies so just defrosted pies last night. It was a four-pack but I put the extras in the fridge instead of in the freezer so it looks like it will be pies again tonight.

@porwest We didn't get them eaten tonight and we're have people for dinner tomorrow night. I'm sure they'll keep till the next day or we can have them for lunch. Yes, they're a pot pie. At least I think they are. They have a pastry shell and a lid. Steak and kidney.

You can always skip a day or two. In the fridge they will probably keep for a week or so. I am assuming these are like pot pies?

You have a yummy dinner. Enjoy it. We had Singaporean fried noodles. I bought it yesterday in the supermarket and I only had to warm it in the wok. I bought it as I wanted to know how Singaporean fried noodles taste.

@thelme55 Was it spicy, like spicy hot? I wonder since I don't like hot things.

As always, it was very good. Took a bit long to get again this round. Last time I ordered it took over three hours to get it delivered. This time was more like two. They've been a sh*t show since Covid started for delivery times.

Sounds good. Is this the same place that was closed for a while? I'm glad they're back in business if it is. My plate - leftovers - deep-dish pizza casserole.

Yep. Same place. Glad they are back in business, although I wish the wait time for delivery was shorter. You used to get your food in somewhere around 30 minutes. The time before it took 3 hours and this time it took about 2. Deep dish pizza casserole sounds delicious, by the way.

@porwest It sounds like they are in demand to have that kind of wait time. Thank you. It was.

Was this the place you wrote about that you had to wait a long time to get a delivery from recently? Or was that a different place? I love Chinese food. Haven't had it in a while. I wouldn't mind some Chinese today. But as we are gonna order out tomorrow not sure hubby will wanna order to tonight. But tomorrow I am craving for sushi or maybe some Indian food. I think we are gonna have Russian dumplings (pelmeni) tonight. I love them with the water they've been cooking in, a dollop of sour cream, some butter, and fresh parsley or cilantro or dried if no fresh. What you ordered sounds delicious, though no pork or shrimp for me.
