Recipe of a good humour

I can be funny around people who are less humorous. I come up with many things that could make people laugh, but I tend to be more quiet around those who always joke around. Sometimes I say something which is not humourous and people still laughs. Such humours are like dibs on a cake without sugar. You say something plain and it will be interpreted as sarcasm or insult to someone. "I have been told so many times that I'm funny or hilarious, but doing it on purpose is like searching an ant on the mighty elephant." Improving your humor or humoUr is like searching or omitting that "U" Image taken from: Google image

One can’t force humor. Either you have it or you don’t.

With due respect to your comment, I think one should always learn how to make others laugh.Being humorous is the key to anyone's heart. Making people laugh makes you confident and popular. And can sometimes save you in difficult situations.

@DianneN Wow, glad to know that. Which is the most hilarious/funny incident from your life that makes you burst into laughter whenever you recall it?

Laughing with others, situations in life and at yourself is healthy vs being so serious all the time. It's also a great way to cope and make situations that arise easier to deal with. And laughter shows a life well-lived.

Well said, in the current stressful, anxieties, sleep deprived cultures, humour is a necessity.

I don't know about that last one since the U isn't part of American English. You can't fake humor. You either have it or you don't. I guess I don't. There's no U in my humor.

You can fake laughter, but you cannot fake good humour.

I like to joke and enliven parties but occasionally some have taken offence too. Nowadays I am more careful with the gathering. We need a few to be the life of the parties rather than a few huddling in groups. .

There are two people : the one that are naturally funny and those who try to discover science out of it.

I believe being humorous comes naturally. If you try too much, you end up failing in it.

I like to joke, sometimes what I say accidentally makes people laugh, I think what I said earlier is not funny but for other people it's funny, sometimes my friends repeat what I said as a joke, but it doesn't sound funny, maybe because of a different intonation or what I don't understand.

That is called real talent with a mix of proper intonation and perfect timing.

I don't joke around serious people. I don't know whether I'm offending them or not.

True, in such situations, it's only safe to joke with somebody whom you know and who understands your tone and body language.
