I Got Hurt By Wrong Beliefs

From reading psychology books and self help books, Ive come across how daughters need their fathers and they will not grow up fine without a father figure. I'm scared that if I enter into a relationship with another man, he might sexually abuse her. So those are my biggest fears.
I weathered the hard times, and I was so happy how it turned out. We were a simple family and we both now have jobs. I am starting to like the family life. My daughter grew up into an awesome girl.
And then all of a sudden, her father get entangled with another woman. Oh well so much for my happy ending.
Now I feel like an undesirable, old hag. Like a rag thrown away. Good thing I found this peace and joy inside of me about enjoying the simple things in life like reading books, surprisingly cooking, and gardening. I will try crocheting with my mother. Oh and thankfully, the internet.
I am also thinking if i could learn to drive that would give me immense joy, roadtrips and nature trips. But I am so horrible at navigation and visual estimation. I dont know if I will ever learn to drive without killing myself or another living being.

@yoalldudes no one wants her/his life to be out on the public. We can only do so much and we have our shares of mistakes. People just to be judgemental and see mistakes of others first. As long as you do what is right and sincere to you, they do not have a say in what you do

We have different kinds of problems that we will encounter in this life. We just need to be strong to face all these issues. Yes, learning new things will certainly help. If you won't start, you will never know that driving is a great experience.

@yoalldudes start slowly. At least you'll learn how to before escalate the speed.

Wow really? I love your fighting spirit. I am also thinking seriously about learning to drive. Maybe I can go slowly in the beginning. It won't do harm at 30 kph.

Why would you feel like an old hag when you have an awesome daughter, and a simple life reading books and cooking and gardening? Do not allow the father of your daughter affect you. You are you and you alone can dictate your own happiness.
Try to eradicate the ugly thoughts like not learning to drive because you are afraid you'd kill your self.

You've had a nasty experience, but mind you, not all man are bad. Seems to me you are doing great living by yourself and your daughter. Daughters can grow up very well without a father. Better no father than a bad father. Don't think too low on yourself, you've managed fine sofar. So if you want to learn to drive a car, then go for it. Take some lessons, I'm sure you will do fine.

These situations are very difficult, and I'm sorry you had to go through it. I think it is worth developing and self-improvement, getting to know the world and debating your fears. Try this car. I used to think that I would not be able to manage the wheel, and this time I drive a car and it's ok.

In fact, I think driving has helped me solidify the pages I'm going on.
