Amazon and more deliver to your door

Businesses such as Amazon and others that deliver right to our door are getting us spoiled. When the virus we are all concerned about leaves town (and we are hoping it is under control soon) we might continue to use the delivery services we have been using now. It doesn't make sense to us to go to a large store to get what we need if they will deliver it to us. With the exception and some family owned places here, we are avoiding stores as much as we can. The world is really changing, isn't it?

I have always been a shop in-person type of person whenever possible. I've recently been ordering off of amazon as of late, when shopping for a product in-person isn't an option (meaning it's not easily found at a store). Even if people actually recover from the fear this has caused (Florida has been restriction free since sep) only then will we see "normalcy".

Shopping in person is something we really don't mind, but with so many concerns about the virus, we will do what we can for now to stay away from crowded places.

Many are getting spoiled. I order most things online, and I did before the virus.

It can be very convenient. We just have to keep track of what was ordered and be sure we are getting the right things and not charged incorrectly. Over the years we have found it to be really handy.

Yes, the virus really has changed things for many of us in so many ways. But, here we are, doing what we can to get through what is happening!

Yes, it's certainly changed the way we do things. I order a lot more online nowadays.

We are enjoying the convenience and it saves us so much time, plus we don't have to deal with traffic.

It is, but no delivery service come to houses in remote areas. So, we can order and have things put in the trunk of our car.

That could be annoying to some, but we know it could be better than having to go into a store where hundreds are shopping at the same time.

At the end of the driveway? Some have reported things being stolen, even when placed at the front door.

I've been using delivery sites like Walmart.com or Target.com to get dry goods like pasta or the sauces that are in jars for years and then I also order pet food from Chewy.com or Walmart.com etc. It always left me with simply shopping for perishables or sometimes clothes inside a store.

I wish there were farmers around here where I could get produce and stuff but it's too hot and dry for most veggies to thrive here @PatZAnthony

Perishables are the biggest issue here. The local markets were closed, so people had to go directly to the farmers to get certain items. Now, they are open at times, but just a few people are allowed in, and only one person from a family.

We had one grocery chain close, which was a shock. Restaurants and locally-owned shops are almost all gone.

I order with some things, but really prefer to go in person for some reason. Guess I am a bit old school.

Are those drone-delivered? I read in the news that Amazon is going to use drones for delivery

Although we have heard about drones delivering in some areas, this is not something we have seen. No doubt eventually we all will see this happening.

Yes, it is. It's more online than ever before. Brick and mortar will be a thing of the past before too long.

Sad to say, we have noticed many small stores close here. We can't fight the change.

Sad to say, it is true here that several shops we liked closed because they did not have a choice. No customers- We buy what we can from local people but many of our choices are now limited.

@PatZAnthony Our supermarkets here donĀ“t deliver home. If they have online shops, only limited products but not food.
