Caramel Turtle Brownies

Saw my neighbor earlier today. He was out in the yard with his little dog. He lost his wife a couple of years ago with cancer. In his early 80s.
His daughter moved to a nearby town. He sees her frequently. I was talking about food. I asked if he was eating good. He is alone now. And he said yes, but he sure misses his wife's desserts. I asked what his favorite was. And he said brownies.
I had a mix in the pantry. I came home and baked a pan of caramel turtle brownies, added pecans, and brought them over to him. He was so happy I thought he was going to cry. He said I made his day, and then some. He was calling his daughter when I walked away.
Little does he know this helped me probably as much as it did him. Seeing his smile was priceless.
Kindness is easy to do. The world needs more of that.

Whenever those mixes are 10/$10 you should buy a few and bake one or two for him. I am sure it would make his day.

@CarolDM If you have a way of contacting the daughter, it might be a nice surprise to find out what ones he likes the best. We all need little reminders that we are thought of
