Eggs are

United States

Not my favorite thing. I have to douse them in something like avocado salsa to make them taste good enough to eat. However, there is a lot that goes into making sure eggs are ready for consumption. I had no idea what all went into making sure the eggs were quality enough for a store shelf, but the below video explains more about it. Did you know egg and egg product is used in cosmetic / beauty aides? I mean, I think I knew that but it's not something I think about until I hear about it. Family members have some laying hens but I never get any of their eggs (they never offer). I always buy free range and organic eggs. What about you?

Lucky, lucky. I would love to have my own laying hen or two. Just so I could sell them.

@Tina30219 Oh yeah, coyotes are awful creatures! I used to live somewhere where we heard coyotes all the time.

Jay use to get eggs, from certain farm owners on his route. Now, we won't get them any long. I had no idea that eggs are used in beauty aides/cosmetics! This is very interesting:)

I thought it was interesting. Yep, fully automated except for the people who take away the dirty eggs.

I've heard of it as a face mask or hair mask. I didn't know women in india used it though.

I worked in a hatchery for years, the eggs would come in and they put them in incubators and leave them there, until they hatch out, and we vaccinated them, and they were sent to chicken houses, and when they were big enough, they caught them and sent them to processing plant.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Besy job, I ever had. Now, they vaccinate the chicken in the eggs. A machine called an imbrex machine.

@popciclecold Technology moves at the speed of light. Imbrex makes me think of imitrex (the migraine medicine) for some reason.

I once had a job in a dairy store and we had to assess the eggs with a light. That was kind of interesting. I just buy my eggs from the supermarket.

I bet that made you think of the incubation period. That's what I think of whenever I think of a light on the eggs. Yeah, I buy Land O Lakes brand the most.

We don't buy eggs often, because my husband and I don't really eat them. Like you, I can't stand the taste. I use them in cooking all of the time, or whenever I'm in the mood. However, the craving needs to be real strong so the eggs don't get forgotten about and have to be tossed out.

I know, I just won't eat them if I can taste the egg, itself. My mom had a hard time getting me to eat them.@ScribbledAdNauseum

@kaylachan What's weird is I used to love eggs. Then one day I just hated them. I pour avocado salsa from Herdez on mine. Makes them delicious.

Oh trust me, I've tossed far too many eggs out because I forget about them. I want to buy a waffle maker so I can make chaffles. Those require eggs but there are so many recipes to make them delicious.

I like eggs, we do not eat them every day, not even every week, but they are a good source of protein. Egg whites contain collagen, they are used in cosmetic for products that can tone and tighten the skin.

@LadyDuck I follow the keto lifestyle because it's worked very well for me. I do not think I will ever eat high carbohydrate foods any longer. They simply don't appeal to me.

@thelme55 I think eggs are one of those controversial foods. Sometimes scientists tell us they are healthy and other times they say to leave them alone.

We just buy regular eggs. I'm not a big egg fan unless they are scrambled, in egg salad or as deviled eggs. The thought of a sunnyside-up egg makes me cringe.

I can do omelets, fried eggs and scrambled but I have to have something to make them taste better. Sunny side up makes my stomach hurt too.
