Made another $120 from my restoration "business."

Like many Americans (and others), I am frustrated that I am making a fraction of what I usually make through teaching, counseling, etc. But I am glad to make a few extra "bucks" through my restoration "business."
This past weekend, I sold a KLH Model 21 radio, from about 1969, to a local "customer." I bought it for about $60.00, a couple of years ago, did a restoration with sandpaper, oil, and steel wool, and was able to sell it via Craigslist this past week.
The new owner was happy, and I now have a bit more space near my TV and boxes of raw stereo components.
Do you have an "on the side" gig that gives you a few extra hundred dollars a month to play with?

@wolfgirl569 You sell babies? For eating? So that lady from Georgia is RIGHT? Are you also involved with the Jewish space lasers that start forest fires? (This may be deleted, so read it fast!)

I take surveys, MyLot and belong to a couple of panels. Nothing like a few hundred dollars a month. Less than $50 a month.

@TheHorse I use my earnings for mostly Amazon credits or Paypal. I then turn that into gift cards for our favorite restaurants. Works out well!

With the Corona virus limiting my ability to work (no, I don't have it), I sometimes think I should retire early and start receiving Social Security. But the longer I hang on, and keep working, the more I'll get from Social Security when I finally do retire.

You did an awesome job on that radio and what a lucky customer to get such a beautifully restored item.
My side hustle used to be selling things on Ebay but I never made hundreds of dollar a month. Lately with the postal service being so screwed up I stopped selling because I didn't want the hassle of the item not being delivered and having to deal with irate customers.

Yep. I was lucky in that none of the speakers I sold on eBay got damaged in shipping. I used FedEx. But the hassle of packing stuff (it basically takes a whole evening to tightly pack a medium-sized pair of speakers) made me do local stuff only.

@sunrisefan As a child, I saw these the beautiful things all around me. Now that I can afford them, and can restore them, I want to see them back in use.

I definitely have no side gig that's very profitable!
I was watching some restoration videos last night and thought of your projects. Have you ever seen this channel?

Good thing you have your side gigs.
My side gig, mystery shopping, shut right dwn last March. It is still slow. But I get to do an order online and curbside pickup as a mystery shop. So that will be a new one for me.
My main job, substitute teaching, has been back on since September. But slower too.

Your radio looks nicely done. I don't really have a side hustle. But it looks like you know what you are doing in restoring things. I recently restored 2 antique nightstands for my bedroom, took me forever. I'm slow.
