For those familiar with holiday cacti

Do you happen to know how often they bloom or if they have a dormant period between blooms? I used to think most bloomed twice per year but since mine never bloomed like most people I no longer remember what that means exactly. I never used to water mine enough but this last blooming season it went through I learned to water it two to three times per week and mist it if my house is lacking humidity. My cactus is considered a Thanksgiving one or it blooms mostly in November. This past blooming cycle lasted longer than ever before as it bloomed into January. I didn't have water handy recently so instead I misted the plant and noticed a few days later that I have about ten new buds starting up again. So I'll be back to watering it more often and maybe this time I'll get blooms over more than half the plant at once. The red half circles are to highlight the various buds.

@DianneN it will be nice to see how long it lasts this time too. I should fill my water jug so I won't have any excuses not to water it often enough.

You mean the plant itself? For at least five years and possibly longer. I don't remember when I purchased it. I've grown others before but never had much luck with the blooms until this winter and crazy's help of a link.
