I live in a tropical climate where the rainfall is very high here. I really like the rainy season, but sometimes I am afraid of lightning. I have an experience about lightning that traumatized me with this. I was greeted by lightning behind my house. Lightning struck one of the trees until it broke, caught fire and died. including the banana trees around it died due to being burned.
it happened before my eyes, luckily I was far enough away from the thunder and immediately closed my eyes when it happened. Until recently, I really couldn't enjoy the rain when there was lightning. maybe you guys have something similar with me?

It is almost the same here in Mangalore where the monsoons are very heavy and we have landslides and at least a few calamities where lightning strikes old cottages etc..in my ancestral house they keep several iron rods and sheets and throw it out when the lighting strikes ,supposed to absorb the electricity generated ..

I hate being out in thunderstorms tothis day. I was once actually caught inside a bolt of lightning as a kid. It was freeky.
