A Bright Light in the Dark Winter

My daughter’s mother in law Rosemary gave me a beautiful plant for Christmas. It bloomed the week before Christmas and now it is in full bloom again.
It makes me smile every time I go into the kitchen. It has a place of honor on my kitchen table.

@BelleStarr So are the plants alive? Surely they don't live and grow in wax?

It has been in my kitchen without any light since I got it but it is in wax and I haven't had to do anything to it,

@BelleStarr My mother had one in a vase and the flowers came back during several years. I never had one.

@BelleStarr I thought so, but wasn’t sure. I have faux roses and faux peonies for a bit of color in a dark winter.

Is it an amaryllis? It's very pretty. I didn't realize they would bloom twice.

You're right. Orange red amaryllis gives so much cheer and hope in these dark winter months. I will grow 2 plants, indoors.
Thank you.

So lovely and gorgeous red cheer! I'd love to see a full, entire photo of the gorgeous plant. Is it indoor plant? I might look for one at our nearby nursery.
I've been bringing in indoor plants for 3 weeks now since my niece gave me a Devil's Ivy.

There is something about the bright color in the dullness of winter. I have enjoyed this amaryllis much more than I would ever have expected.
