Dreams

Some of you enjoy me talking about my dreams.
Some just roll their eyes and pass the discussion on (or so I assume and you know what they say about people who assume? They can't make pancakes! )
Any-hoo-sles
This one was a bit more disjointed than others and it would take too long to describe it all.
I was in a grand hotel with someone. The person switched between several different people I know in real life and some I do not know. I believe we were in a hotel somewhere near the beach and the word "Bahamas" flashed in my head several times during this dream.
In parts of it there was a little boy accompanying us. We were supposed to be enjoying a vacation but I felt as if I was the boy's caretaker for most of the dream. The part I can remember the most is navigating our way out of the complex. A lady dressed in a concierge uniform tried to assist us. We went through several rooms decorated in different styles and some that were playing different music. I got the sense that the staff was not eager to see us leave and were trying to stop us with any means possible.
The woman who was assisting us left us after the elevator we were attempting to get began to malfunction. I can't describe exactly how it malfunctioned and I am truly glad I can't remember because I loathe elevators.
It was around this time that I began to fear the man I was with. I can't truly describe how / why / that fear came about, but it was there. My mind kept flashing to views of a wide, blue ocean.
Weird, huh?

Nope, this was not a weird dream. They were bending over backwards, to keep you there! Each lovely room, wanting you to see the one you liked best. A changing associate, people are often this way. One minute this way and the next minute, they're totally different. The elevator is symbolic of your fear, being trapped inside with no way out. Actually, you probably fear men, because they change once a woman believes she knows them well. We find out they are different, their true colors are finally displayed.

I once had a man tell me that I feared men. This was only a few months after I separated from my ex husband. At that time in my life, he was right!
Now, I know that I do not need a man in my life to make me happy.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I fear men because my ex used me like a mop, to deal with his addictions. I'm glad that's all over, but I'm still very cautious about men.

@kobesbuddy Mine was emotionally abusive. Years later he apologized to me. I asked him, "Why were you like this?" His answer? "I don't know!"

Hmmm... someone new in your life? Or someone you're thinking about adding to your life?
A bit weird, yes, but the anxiety over the person with you would concern me more...

No one new and nope, not thinking of anyone new. I've been anxious lately and I think this was just my subconscious being helpful by providing me a tense situation!

@DaddyEvil True.
But I have also watched Chicago Fire every night before bed, so it could just be that?

@ScribbledAdNauseum Or maybe, pointing out how it could always be worse.

Yeah but that could be the beginning of a good book.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I thought the same thing would make a good murder mystery book

@Tina30219 I love those types of books and tv shows / movies. Murder mystery is an awesome genre.

It could be. There are parts that I can see in my head but not really describe. It felt very similar to a murder mystery.

Yes, very. I seem to be a caretaker of a child in many of my dreams too. We don't have children and never wanted any. The elevator thing is interesting too.

I have had dreams of being pregnant too. At this stage in my life, I'm not thinking of children any longer. I am not in a relationship but if I were I would not want any children.

@LindaOHio I'm sorry they are scary for you. I went through a period of time when I wanted children, but I think sometime about two years ago I realized that's not what I wanted anymore. Not that it matters as I am single.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I have had dreams like that too. I never wanted children; so those dreams are scary for me.
