Heart Songs Top Ten: Heart of the Night (#7)

One week from today we’ll all be hitting the stores for that discounted chocolate! 
See, even single people can find something to love about Valentine’s Day. Hope you can find a song you love on this list of favorites with “heart” in the title. To nobody’s surprise, here’s a longtime favorite with today’s tune.
#7: Heart of the Night - Poco
And you know I had this song (and another Poco New Orleans song, “Down in the Quarter”) playing while I was in New Orleans last week!!! 
One of Poco’s “big hits” that took them out of their status as heavily-influencing “cult” band for a year or two, this song retains enough of their country-rock feel while throwing in a saxophone (but hey, even Merle Haggard had a saxophone player for a while!) for good measure.
Poco is my all-time favorite rock band (and my 4th or 5th favorite country band ). No surprise that they’re here with this gem.

Our stores here have aisles of candy, and when it goes unsold they make it down. That’s excessive consumerism in the United States for you.

Glad I was there when I was, because three days ago they, in essence, closed down the French Quarter (all the bars, no driving on the big streets, no gatherings, etc.).

Cotton and Young really endured a lot of line up changes over the years put persevered with this "chestnut" of an album My favorite tune from this LP even with the horns. Yep, these 2 were the "heart" of this band!
