Being a landscaped garden designer I was keen on having my garden landscaped. Water bodies are part of a landscaped garden design. I insntalled a waterfall and also got the lotus pond ready. Whenever we saw a lake with lotus in them my husband would willingly pull out a plant and that is how we collected different colours. The pond looked colourful as flowers started to bloom. But one fine day I spotted a snake in there and that was the end of our lotus pond. It is now filled with soil and plants are growing. Would you continue despite spotting snakes?

This is so beautiful ! But oh no, no more pond??? I am not afraid of snakes, but I would be if it were venomous. Here, we don't not get snakes at home, so I can say that .

No I certainly wouldn't. Frogs and newts and fish are fine, but snakes - NO!

Snakes need water too. If it was a dangerous kind I would have got rid of it

I suppose it would depend on the type of snake and whether I thought they were a danger or not.

It isn't safe if snakes want to come to it. We have ponds like yours but no snakes. I'd have done what you did.

I would. Snakes are pretty common. I am fine as long as it stay away. Most would run at the sight of human anyway.
