Where Revelation-John probably heard of "666"

First Kings 10:14 (after the Queen of Sheba came to Jerusalem and marveled at the wealth that came with King Solomon's wisdom)---The Bible tells us that King Solomon was receiving 666 talents of gold every year.
(Oddly, the number's translation there--like I think it is in Revelation as well--is "six-hundred, three-score & six.")

@mythociate Mark of the Beast you said. That's Anti-Christ. 666 is the number of the Anti-Christ!

@sharonelton maybe ... I get that stuff & those names mixed-up---with The Beast (with 666 being 'the number of his name') and the one that comes after The Beast (667? ) ... there's a Mark you're not supposed to take, and a Mark that will be "given" (maybe that 'mark' is just 'what it looks like if you haven't taken the other Mark')
And--to answer your first question--they're 'the same number.' (666 (talents per year, or ... whatever The Mark is).
