This was borrowed from the Lincoln County leader. [volume] (Toledo, Lincoln County, Or.) 1893-1987, February 11, 1921, Image 1 Found on chroniclingamerica.loc.gov
Thought I'd drop this here. No politics added to it, just showing the clever drawing of a GOP balloon with GOP members (presumably) inside flying over the capitol.
What say ye? Bet the process of drawing these for the papers was interesting.

Yes and I wonder what people in 1921 thought of it.

I absolutely love this. The political party logo/ sign is their balloon but what is more interesting, is the caption. It denotes that the ruling party at the time was quite incompetent and out of touch and this was 100 years ago. Another thing I find remarkable is that both the assumed politicians are looking down with flags like some tourists not to mention that the elephant is looking down too but is a bit sad. I love it :D

I've actually wanted to end most of my post with "What say ye?" but I don't.

I like the listings that state where someone went. There are even some that talk about someone visiting her parents. WTH?

Oh I see that. I sometimes read through them but I don't post those here. I sometimes wonder how influential the people listed were in society of that time. I guess I don't see the point in the paper mentioning them (whether on their own accord or directed by the individuals in question) otherwise.

Yes, I thought so too. It looks like they are releasing the sand on the left side so maybe they are not ready to go back down yet.
