Maybe she thinks she is a dog!

She did it again!
When I am at the kitchen sink washing the dishes or preparing food or whatever else, she arrives with one of her toys ... and waits with that pleading expression.
Today it was a coloured elastic (supposedly for hair but great as cat toys) and she just waited, and waited and waited some more while I finished what I was doing.
I know what she wants: I throw it down the hall, she fetches it and I throw it again and then I throw it again... until she is tired - which could be anything up to half an hour!
Chicca is a cat but I'm sure some days she seems like a dog
What do your cats play with?
Do you have to play too?

Poor kitty! How can you ignore that pleading face, MysD?
We used to have a cat who would bark just like a dog while chasing rabbits. It was really funny!

A cat that barked?!
I didn't ignore her. I took the photo and she didn't move. Then I continued what I was doing - and she didn't move either - and when I had finished some 20 minutes later I threw her elastic towards the bedroom down the hall - many times because she kept bringing it back!

@DaddyEvil She know by now that when I finish what I'm doing I will definately play with her so she waits She is not impatient or noisy like a dog would be.

@mysdianait Oh, what a good girl! She loves to play with you, even when you pretend to be too busy to play with her.

Chicca is a tiny cat. She eats a lot but has never grown bigger.
I have to be careful to pick things up immediately. One morning I dropped one of the tablets that I take at breakfast time and she saw it. No idea what would have happened if she had eaten it. It was one for my heart problems

@mysdianait Oh my, may be she only played with it, but it is possible she ate.
I have the feeling she had no problems.

Not always. It's obvious when she sits like that and brings something that she wants to play.
Also when a bird comes on the balcony and she sees it from the window and starts making such a noise. It's so obvious she wants to make a meal of it

I think she knows that to be the case as I always give in eventually and play with her

I am so lucky because Chicca doesn't touch anything unless I give it to her. She is so respectful of my things. A friend bought her a toy for Christmas but she wouldn't go near it until I gave it to her.
Oh talking of Christmas... she didn't touch ANYTHING on the Christmas tree but would nap underneath it every day.

Chicca has many toys too along with a box containing at least 20 different-coloured hair elastics These are her favorite toys for months now. A different colour each day too. I collect them up in the evening as they are everywhere! She plays by himself with them too, tossing them up in the air

@mysdianait If you ever get a Chihuahua, you will love it. We have always been told that they are yappers but mine aren't. They are very protective though. They are so smart, loyal and so loving too. If anything ever happens to mine, I will definitely have more. They are easy to potty train also.

@stephcjh I did think they were yappers. If they are easy to potty train then that would make it almost like a cat. Do you have to take them for walks daily too?

Oh those are the only type of dog that I might consider having one day as they are small and I could keep one in my flat. But for now my cat is quite enough and she would probably be offended if I got a dog too.

Awwwwww - I'll bet she makes sure you get a good arm workout in (while she gets her own workout !). No cats here, but we have parakeets. We would love to play fetch with them, but they just stare at us and say good luck with that one .

Oh yes I get a lot of exercise playing with her. Especially when I throw it and she is tiring out and I have to go and fetch it. Also in the evening or first thing in the morning, when I have to collect everything she played with during the day - and that includes also moving small cupboards and armchairs to fish out the ones whe lost underneath them

I have had other cats in the past but none of them ever did it. With her it's daily throughout the day once she has had her beauty sleep between games

I think she does that expression on purpose because she nows I will fall for it and play with her - unless my hands are wet because I'm washing up.

Wow! Yours does it too. It's such fun playing with them like that as I thought it was a doggy thing and was surprised when she started doing it

My cat, Lily, loves to play with her cat toys. She also plays with a little heart that was once attached to a teddy bear my boyfriend gave me. Yeah she paws at my feet when she wants to play. I throw her toys at her and she catches them. I also have cat toy wands.

Chicca had a wand but she pulled off all the feathers, probably thinking it was a bird
It's such fun to play with them especially when they enjoy it so much too.

I had a small dog many many years ago but I find a cat is more fun. Especially a cat who lives indoors and doesn't need taking out for walks throughout the day. I definately enjoy my cat more than I did my dog.
Are your dogs big ones or small ones?
