Our fire-unit is now fully operational

We have now finished the modifications to the fire-fighting unit that we bought recently. The latest addition is a cage that holds extra fuel for the pump and hand-held fire extinguisher. We welded the cage from scrap materials - steel tubing with mesh floor and sides. It’s been welded to the frame of the unit. The cage has been painted with an anti-corrosive. Hasn't the painting been done well?
We filled the tanks from our new hydrant down the paddock so we know that works. We’ve pumped up the tyres and it’s now under cover at the big shed with a lock on the towball so it can’t be stolen. When we get some long, strong cable ties, we’ll add a PVC tube which will hold several rakes and a shovel. Don’t forget to compliment me on my painting of the cage.

A fabulous job on the cage painting!!!!!
Now....may you never use it, except to check it every year to make sure everything is operational.

@DaddyEvil Aw shucks. I could have if it had needed painting. I'm pretty handy with a paint brush.

@wolfgirl569 This had to be a rust inhibitor. I don't think that comes in spray cans unfortunately.

Sure the painting deserves a good compliment, Ms. Janet! I'm glad to know that your firefighting unit is ready - not that I wish it to be used but to be of use, just in case.

@JudyEv - You did a beautiful job painting the cage! Having your own fire unit is a great idea, especially for people who live in a rural area, anywhere in the world. It seems there are so many dangerous fires that can pop up almost anywhere. Glad you are prepared for whatever happens!

You did a very good job painting the cage; and it's very cool that you now have a solid plan in place in case of fire. Hopefully you will never have to use it.

That must be a big sigh of relief! And that's a job well done. And the painting is real professional one.You put in a lot of effort there but I just hope that all goes for something that God forbid you should never get to use.
