It has been going on all week! It started when someone said that they must pick up some beans - and I asked them if they had fallen Then someone said that they had just had a coffee break - and someone asked if they were able to have it repaired Now I just came back from the kitchen and saw I didn't do the washing-up after lunch (because I came to myLot and forgot of course - but that's not the point). I asked myself why we call it the washing-up and not the washing-down! Do you talk to yourself?

I usually think I am talking to my husband, but as he does not listen, I suppose I often talk to myself.

I often talk to trees. They are usually friendly people, though they rarely answer.

that might explain why you have mice and ants. Probably there is a rumour going round that someone is talking to the grass and they came to check it out

All the time. I concluded Love is the most unholy thing because people fall in love and falling hurts. Happy Valentine's day flit and fly butterfly. By the way, talking to self is supposed to be healthy. I read it somewhere.

Ah not aloud? I have conversations with myself aloud quite often. Often happens when I'm ironing though I've no idea why

Oh, yes I talk to myself. Sometimes with my plants and things in the kitchen. I wonder why it is called washing up and not washing down for ages but have not asked someone.

I asked myself and couldn't get an answer so I asked here too Oh I talk with my plants most days too. When I open the shutters every morning the ones on the window sill always get compliments or encouragement if they look a bit off.

@thelme55 @mysdianait I do talk to my plants and my fish... Pretty talks to the fish, too, but if she catches me talking to the plants, she rolls her eyes and tells me I'm crazy. I don't mind. I know my plants love me, so who is the crazy person?

@DaddyEvil Plants love be talked to! That is obvious from how they react in the following days. Maybe you should point that out to Pretty next time she tells you off

My husband talks to himself because he says that is the only way he gets the right answers. I can see how the different uses of the word break could confuse new English speakers. Yesterday I used the word pulses, meaning lentils, beans, etc. My friend thought I was talking about pulses - relating to our heartbeat

I do sometimes talk to myself, and sometimes to others as well. I am not always polite to me. One reason I avoid self checkouts at the store is some of them talk, and I talk back.

I totally avoid self checkouts as I prefe talking to a real person and not to a machine - but you have a point. If I used one I would probably get mad at it and talk aloud, telling it off!

When I have been on myLot, I have discovered that I forgot about some chores too . . . um, yah, that seems to happen way too often . I do talk to myself, but I don't talk to the mirror .

I talked once to myself in the mirror but Chicca was sitting on top of the washing machine which is opposite and she couldn't work that out at all Talking about chores that need doing... no I refuse to talk about them right now as I have so many notifications to catch up with - but the washing machine has finished and if I don't hang out the washing no-one else will

@much2say I was free today with no errands to run and other than risotto at lunchtime and then pancakes this evening and then the washing to hang out when the washing machine ended, I was here all day. Though... now that I have written it all down I was not here ALL day at all because added to that was the washing up twice too!

@mysdianait That must be so cute. I see videos of cats and mirrors - too funny!! Right - we won't talk about chores today - I know I have too many to list and get through . . . and thus far this morning I have not done very much .

Yes... why? Is that something bad? Sometimes, when I'm talking on myLot I start laughing hard enough that I fall out of bed. Pretty comes running in asking if I'm alright... Then she reads what I just read and falls onto my bed laughing. Then I start asking myself why I shared funny things on myLot with her... She just keeps reading.

Of course it's not bad! Unless you are saying things aloud and unaware of who might also be within hearing distance There is so much that makes me chuckle on here - even things which weren't meant to make me laugh at all

@mysdianait I do understand... sometimes, someone who doesn't speak English as their first language says something that just... uhm... sets me off and I can't stop laughing. If I know them fairly well, I send them a message and explain what they said so they can correct it. If I don't, I say nothing and hope nobody else notices what I did.
