Children had snakes around their necks yesterday....

Hey! I hope everyone is doing well!
I just wanted to share some of my day yesterday at the Childcare Centre.
I didn't know this was going to happen but yesterday sometime after morning tea, some animals were brought in for the children to learn about, see and touch.
The first animal that was brought in was a dingo named Yapper. I have never been so close to a dingo before so I didn't realise just how big they were. He was so adorable but he got very close to me and I got a little bit scared. So I didn't pat him. I learned they were more from the wolf family than the dog.
Next was Kira the koala. I gave her a little pat. While she sat in her little tree, some snakes were brought out. Their names were Rambo and Bonnie. Some of the children were fine touching the snakes and even having them sit around their necks. I was offered to touch one of the snakes but I took a step back and said "No thank you."
Last animal was Lizzie the bobtail lizard. Seen plenty of them but still not wanting to touch it.
It was very interesting and fun to watch the children during this time. I have more stories I really want to share with you but it will have to wait for some time this week or during the weekend. It was my birthday on Saturday and I really want to share what happened as every thing that happened that day was a surprise. I was dreading my birthday but it was such a great day! And you know what, without sounding cocky but I bloody well deserved it after the last 2 birthdays! Not a good time at all. In fact quite a handful of my birthdays have been a let down. But this birthday was just awesome!
I look forward to sharing it with you. For now I will chill on MyLot for a bit trying to catch up with notifications then head to bed. Class tomorrow.

Thank you for reading!

@LadyDuck I kinda wish I gave him a pat now. Maybe another time if given the chance to.
I doubt I'd ever touch a snake either!

@VivaLaDani13 I cannot touch a snake, I have a real phobia, I get like paralyzed when I see one.

@LadyDuck You poor thing! That sounds like my Nanny. Even if she sees one on TV she covers her eyes.

@tech40 Yeah I still have to do them. There will be a few posts to explain it all so I'm kinda hesitant because I know there will be a bit of typing.

@VivaLaDani13 Snakes (the ones they let you pet) seem to be quite calm though. They are not slimy or gross - it kinda feels like, well, a belt

@much2say I have heard something similar like that before. Are any snakes even slimy? For some reason many people say they are slimy. I kinda wish I touched the snake now lol.

@much2say Thank you so much!
Yes it's amazing just how brave some children can be too! Especially with animals like snakes!

I love this - the description is spot on. Seeing you pull away from a Dingo - Priceless even if it was just in words!

@VivaLaDani13 it was fun to read. The closest I got to a dingo was at the zoo

@prinzcy Thank you so very much!
I am the opposite of you.
If I HAD to pick one, I'd pat the dingo.
I worry a snake is going to strike.
