Keeping Busy and Keeping Sane

This meme is for all those mylotters out there staying home and staying safe. I know some of you are just fine with being home but there are those who are going a little stir crazy. Luckily, we have Mylot to keep us busy and keep us sane. I learned a long time ago that if you are in the position of needing to stay home you need something to occupy yourself. Of course, I still talk to myself I have my crafting and my writing to keep me busy. They both make me a little money and keep me occupied. I am so thankful for these two options that allow me to stay in and stay safe. What do you do during this pandemic to keep you busy and keep you from going crazy?

I mostly stay home anyway except for taking the grandkids for walks, but it makes me crazy that if I want to go out I can't between the pandemic and the cold. And as far as talking , I talk to my 2 grandkids that I babysit, ages 2 and 4.The 2 year old has speech problems and I only have the 4 year old 2 days a week. So I am limited to even talking most of the week.So yeah there are times that I do talk to myself.

@HazySue Exactly! I didn't go out much before. Now when I have to think about if I should go out instead of wanting to go out. This is not fun.

I think it's knowing that you cannot go out if you want to that seems to bother people the most.

I'm retired so staying home was pretty much my life before Covid. I enjoyed going out occasionally but it wasn't all that hard to adjust to being stuck at home. I keep myself busy with my typical daily routine (household chores, etc) and then I enjoy my crocheting and reading. I do miss my family terribly especially the grandchildren. But it's better to be safe than sorry. I'd probably go a little more stir crazy if it wasn't for myLot as I feel as if I'm still connected to the world.

I think that mylot has been big big help towards making people feel not so cut off from others.

I love that meme above. Besides talking to myself, I read, write, Mylot and watching Chinese dramas. These dramas forget me that we are in lockdown.

I do a little bit of reading, word puzzle books, re-watching Lost and some recorded movies. Where do you write if you don't mind my asking?

I am on hubpages and I have been working a little here and there on a historical somewhat spooky, romantic book. I have been with hubpages for about 10 years.

@HazySue I used to write for HubPages. Good luck with your book. I wrote a children's book many years ago that I've been trying to sell.

I think most of us have had to learn how to cut down spending and manage on less.

During the last lockdown where all of us had to stay at home, I spend my time learning new language, cooking, writing, decorating and cleaning.

I read book after book. Right now we are in Vermont skiing and snowshoeing and keeping very safe. We are lucky that our younger son forced us to go to his ski chalet and stay as long as we want. No idea when we will return to CT. lol

Luckily we haven't been too restricted and we have 18 acres of our own to roam in but I do know for some it is very hard. You're right. Being occupied is a good way to stay sane.

I agree with that meme haha. I learn a new skill during this pandemic, and everytime I bored I always searching a design competition so I can join it.

It's funny how most of us tend to talk to ourselves.
