I live in in SW Missouri, right in the middle of the Arctic blast that so much of the US is experiencing now. I've been staying home more than usual. I started watching a few of the true police cam stories on YouTube. Interesting and some situations left me just shaking my head in disbelief. I heard the word 'extortion' today on one episode. I realized that I've heard that word many times, but I never knew what it meant, exactly. So I looked it up. It means obtaining something (usually money) by using force or threats. It's a felony. Am I the only one who didn't know the meaning of extortion?

Maybe you haven't experienced any kind of extortion like things in your own life. It is not a nice word to know though.

Thanks @CarolDM. We got a couple more inches of snow last night but it's getting warmer. I won't drive until it the roads are mostly clear. There have been many vehicles going into ditches and getting stuck this week.

I'm watching live web cams from someplace warm while listening to my police scanner. Partially the same thing you're doing, except the scenery is nicer!

I hope you are staying warm. Because of watching a lot of shows on Discovery ID I happened to know what extortion meant. I am glad you found something to hold your interest on these cold days.
