In 1960 Elvis won his first Gold record for this second studio album Elvis. It was at number one on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart for 4 weeks. Elvis became the first recording artist to have two albums at number one in the same year.
In 1966 Nancy Sinatra was at number one on the UK singles chart with "These Boots Are Made For Walking.''
In 1969 Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash recorded the song "Girl From the North Country" in Nashville and the track was on Dylan's album Nashville Skyline.
In 1971 James Taylor made his TV debut on The Johnny Cash Show with the song "You and I Again"
In 1975 AC/DC came out with their debut album High Voltage featuring a cover of a blues song once recorded by Big Joe Williams "Baby, Please Don't Go"
In 1978 Kate Bush came out with her debut studio album The Kick with her UK number one hit "Wuthering Heights"
In 1979 Blondie was at number one on the UK album chart with Parallel Lines and stayed at the top for 4 weeks. The album featured the singles 'Heart Of Glass', 'Hanging On The Telephone' and 'Sunday Girl.'
In 2008 Duffy the British soul singer was at number one on the UK singles chart with "Mercy" The song stayed at the top for 5 weeks, It wond Duffy a Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
