It appears second wave of covid19 is about to strike India. The cases have started shooting up again. Today it recorded 14587 new cases, an increase of about 2000 cases over yesterdays numbers and highest since 28th of January when it recorded about 19000 cases. Five states have shown marked increase in their daily count of cases. They are Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. This is very serious situation and appears second wave, which was not seen so far, is about to strike our country. After witnessing record braking daily count of almost 100,000 in mid September, highest in the world at that time, the country improved tremendously since then and cases dropped to below 10000 last fortnight. This was happening when rest of the world was witnessing severe second wave. Hope it does not turn that bad and improves from here. How is covid19 situation in your country?

Yes it is not a good news at all. India is very vulnerable compared to other countries because of the size of its population.

It is such a terrible virus. We are in the second wave here in Canada, and they tell us that we are in the third wave, with those terrible mutant germs from afar. Those strains are even quicker to catch.

The mutation of this virus is indeed a bad news. It is reported that there is new version in India too.

The numbers have been going down world-wide but if we relax our vigilance things will only flare up again. Even with the vaccines we still have to continue to be cautious.

It appears this virus strikes in particular weather condition. It may be severe in extreme cold condition. We may hve to guard again in next winter even if we succeed in controlling it now. In Indian conditions it appears it is more severe during monsoon.

I'm very sorry to hear that. It must be a nightmare for the authorities. Australia, as you probably know, is doing well.

I am not too sure about how we are doing here in the United States, I try to stay away from the news because it's just too depressing. I am just ready for it to all be over with. Stay safe!
