How do dogs bark in your country?

This post is actually about cats but I guess cats don’t meow differently. Unlike dogs. In my country, dogs make the ‘aww aww’ sound when they bark. How about there?
Anyway, a comment from @kaylachan about their broken garage door making a loud bang and startling her and her husband but their cats not flinching at all reminded me of the meme above. I never had pet cats before so I can’t comment. 
Speaking of cats, I used to have a spinster neighbor who owns the only mini convenience store in the neighborhood. She always scowled and frowned at her customers. I remember being scared buying at her store. Haha Now she’s very old and her only companions are her cats. Lots of them. I thought cat ladies only exist in books or movies. Until now.

I am neither a cat or a dog person. Although, cats and dogs both seem to like me. *sigh*
Years ago I was given a pair of baby walking sharks by a friend who lives in Australia. I had them in a 50 gallon (189 liter) tank. Sometimes they would get out of the tank and go looking for me. They were so funny! When they found me they would start squeaking and wriggling just like little puppies, begging me to play with them and hold them/cuddle them. I had to make a mesh top for the tank so they couldn't get out of it on their own... I was afraid they'd go looking for me when I was at work and not be able to get back in their tank and die.
I still have a tank of fish and love them very much.

@DianneN we have a gecko at home. One time husband asked me if the gecko is still alive coz we haven’t heard him make a sound for quite some time. Then suddenly our gecko, as if he was just listening to us talk about him, geckoed TUKOOO so loudly I’m sure the neighbors heard him too

I guess my answer would be cat, though I've had both. Growing up, our dogs would bark at almost anything that moved. I would often find myself shouting "shut up" The cats barely cared, over an arey of things that would get the dogs barking.
Its so funny how different cats and dogs, really are.

I would have to say similar, if not the same. Depends on the breed of dog. Each has their unique sound.
My husband also reminded me about our cat, Chinnia. She barks like a dog when she gets super worked up. It makes a 'ruff' type sound. @sol_cee

i thought it was kaw, kaw in the philippines and arf, arf, woof, woof in english. hahaha!
we've had both cats and dogs and i like them equally.
i hope your senior neighbor is healthy. i would feel sorry for her if she fell or had a stroke and nobody noticed.

Kaw kaw? Maybe it depends on the city? It has always been aw aw here for as long as I can remember. Even when I was in kindergarten, we had the matching type test with the animal pictures on the right and their sounds on the left. Aww aww oink oink twit twit meow meow

Definately a cat person! I have had cats most of the time since my childhood. Now I have a female cat called Chicca and she is such a great companion for me

Great meme's. 
I think most dogs in the U.S. in my view do the "Ruff, Ruff" sound. Cats are pretty independent so that meme fits their attitude perfectly as does the dog one. Grew up owning dogs. Switched to cats when I got older and was on my own. Less hassle. No walking them, put some food in the dish and they eat when they want to..
