After coffee earlier, came inside and noticed it was a bit cool in here. We checked the heat, and only cool air was coming out.
At first we thought the furnace was going out. I was thinking dollar signs. Then our dear neighbor called to tell us the entire community is out of gas, due to a gas leak.
What a relief. But that means no heat. For now anyway. Will put on an extra layer of clothes and bundle up. Hopefully the heat will be back on soon. Glad the temps are in the 40s and maybe 50 later.
The sun is out and the snow is melting but it is getting cold in here. Have you been without heat lately?

@CarolDM No, luckily we almost talked about what to do if that happened. There is nothing less inconvenient here if that happens because we heat with electricity

@CarolDM Well, when you sit in the cold, the hours immediately double. I'm glad it's fixed

good that they shut off the gas before there was a crisis. Sorry you had to bundle up. Poor Brendel was of course cold, the queen i suspect does not like cold.

Glad to hear it is not a problem you have to pay for. Our furnace is fairly new. But we have a couple of other methods to heat with also.

First, Texas. Next, Nashville Tennesee. God forbid, what next? So sorry that you are all going through these dark snowtopean hard times.Take care. Stay safe and stronger.
Our central heating broke few months ago, in winter. It was very difficult.

We were without heat for several hours a couple of months ago. I'm glad it didn't last long. Stay safe and warm!

Twice. There was an accident where someone hit a pole and knocked out power to a couple of blocks (including mine). The electric company's power outage map said it'd be six hours to repair, so I used points and spent the night in a nice, warm hotel. The other time was when I had the new furnace installed, which was not even noticeable because I let the crew into the crawl space where my furnace is located, then went back to sleep (given that I knew the bed would be the warmest place in the house). They called and woke me up when they were finished.
But enough of my good fortune, have they found and repaired the leak, or will this be an issue that'll last for a day or longer??
