I thought that by now, I'd know what I want to do with my life. I was wrong. I can't seem to stay happy with any job that I have. I'm somewhat of a female jack of all trades. I like to try things, get really good at them, and then move on to something else. I know what I like. I know what I love. The thing is... if I had to put them all on a scale, they'd all be equal.
I picked up tattooing. I bought myself a tattoo kit. I started to get really good at it, but I don't see myself doing that for the rest of my life. I consider it a hobby. I picked up customizing items. I bought a $300 (Canadian money) machine to customize cups, clothes, cards, you name it. I found it tedious. I consider it a hobby as well. I've worked at an autobody shop, a school, chiropractic clinic, dental clinic, eye clinic, convenience store, dollar store, shoe store, etc. I did modeling for fashion shows when I was in my early adult years. I even became an "adult chat operator". I've never had a job where I thought to myself "This is what I want to do for the rest of my life.". The job that I work at right now is rewarding, but I still don't see myself being there for the rest of my life. I'm considering going to school for web design, but I'm worried that I will spend money and not stick with that career. I can't afford to do that. I almost feel like I should open a shop where I do all of the above lol!! No, that would be a disaster. I've seen career counsellors in the past. They all discovered that I'm a creative person. I don't know... I'm 30 years old now, and I'm going through a bit of a crisis trying to figure out what I want to do.

Why not become an Independent Contractor and simply seek gigs to do one thing at a time for a short period of time. I used to work for those agencies that provided temporary help to businesses in need and I would work or either a week or a month for one business then move on to another if I wanted to, I was in total control as to whether or not I wanted to work.

That's actually a good idea. Maybe I'll find something that I'll want to stick with for a long time through doing that! Thank you!

You're welcome @m1dn1ghts0ul Who knows, you might just find it to be a way to start your own business.

I don't think you should think of a career as something you have to do with the rest of your life. But, it's also not a good idea to jump from job to job, either. You need to pay the bills and put food on the table, and the more jobsyou try the less appealing you'll look to employers.

That's true. I don't really jump from job to job. I usually stick with a job for 2-5 years before moving on. I've been working since I was 14. I'm 30.
