You (better, you) bet! #4: The Who Here’s a little piece of shocking history for you, considering the classic configuration of this group: Roger Daltrey wasn’t originally pegged as lead singer. He was looked at as lead guitarist. I’m sure everyone will agree that everything turned out fine with the way they ended up. Everyone except Keith Moon sang....and if you remember him singing “Fiddle About” and “Tommy’s Holiday Camp” in the film rendition of Tommy or have heard his solo album, you understand that was a VERY wise idea. John Entwistle sang lead on some of the songs he wrote (including “Boris the Spider,” “The Quiet One,” and “My Wife”). Pete sang for the heck of it (such as on “Going Mobile”). An all-around group effort from one of the greatest bands of rock and roll.
