Life on Mars?

I have been watching the Perseverance camera photos from Mars. It looks desolate with mountains and boulders. I eagerly look for any signs of life or activity of life, perhaps abandoned structures or whatever. It does not look like life is there but I think there is water up there. It is hard to tell. Do the mountains hide some kind of civilization? What do you think? Could there be intelligent life on Mars? Would you want to travel there if you had the opportunity? Are we alone in the universe?

One of the machines there found water ice under ground and in pockets in craters. We know there used to be water all over Mars. Scientists have identified lake beds, ocean beds and river beds there. One of the things the machines are trying to find now is evidence of microscopic life forms in the rocks in the lake beds. (Of course, if there is evidence of life, it will almost surely be petrified life since the planet has been without most of it's atmosphere/water for millions of years.) Yes, we'll find life... maybe not on Mars, but somewhere out in space.

I think there must be life somewhere. There are millions of planets. I thought I saw rivers on the live cam. It sure looked like it.

@akalinus Those are dry river beds.

Why did Mars lose its atmosphere? Could that happen on Earth too?

No, there is not intelligent life on Mars. May be there is life on another galaxy in the universe, but not on Mars. We are surely not alone in the universe.

@akalinus Do you know which is the temperature on Mars? The "average" temperature is -80 F( (-62 C)... what do you think to grow on a planet that is so cold?

@LadyDuck I did not know that. Why would it be that cold when the earth, its nearest planet, is much more temperate?

If there is life out there, I hope it is friendly. Mars does not have a good atmosphere but I wonder if growing things could create one.

For me I think its a liveable planet, maybe we just don't know that yet, if you've watched old photo's and videos from the internet most are distorted or blurry or black and white, now we have a clear videos from NASA, maybe later on they will see something in Mars that would answer question of a possibility of a second planet

@akalinus those were theories, teraforming is one way, but seems to me they haven't really explored Mars, that's why their sending more probes to test the living condition, if they found out more the possibility of a liveable planet, maybe and surely it will be colonized, good for a fresh start for some people

@ricotivi I think in the future that some country will send people to start a colony on Mars. That does not seem likely right now, but maybe someday.

I have heard that the citizens of Mars could be in underground cities with a controlled atmosphere. Or, maybe I watched too many science fiction movies in the past.

I understand that there used to be water on Mars. Where there is water, there is usually life. I saw a youtube video about a boy who said he came from Mars in his last lifetime and they destroyed the planet with a nuclear war. He said he was sent to warn the people of earth.
