'Jaws of Life'

I didn't know there is such a heavy equipment called 'Jaws of Life.' Learned it a moment ago from a real bad news concerning a car accident involving Tiger Woods. The 'Jaws of Life' was used to extricate the golf athlete from the vehicle, I think. Judging from the reports, Tiger Woods is in a severe condition, his legs being repaired via surgery. I do feel bad. Kobe Bryant was taken last year. I do pray Tiger Woods gets spared. These athletes have striven to be the best in their sports. They succeeded. Erred in some ways but had risen from those failings, too.

I’ve heard of jaws of life. Firemen use them a lot, unfortunately. Tiger is doing better with a rod in his leg and screws in his ankle or foot. Poor guy, but glad he’s alive.

I gathered as much from the news, that the 'Jaws of Life' is always ready for accidents. Sadly, we don't have such a heavy equipment in my country. Sigh of relief about the good news that Tiger is doing all right.

@DianneN I like Tiger even if I don't watch nor play golf, considering the sport the most boring in the world. The only good thing that golf gives is the benefit of getting people on their feet and walk through grass and slopes. Tiger's silhouette and stance made golf, meaning Tiger is golf. But when you look at the man's images, his facial expression denotes sadness.

Not updated on news lately. I guess he was still lucky that he was able to be extracted from that accident he had. I also hope that he will be able to recover from this soon.

Am totally oblivious to Philippine News except for the Perseverance Rover Entry/Descent/Landing on Mars bearing the ingenuity of a fellow Filipino. Wasn't even aware the EDSA Anniversary has passed. Prep me up for some worthy to hear local news. I feel for Tiger Woods, he has so many physical injuries, I hear, and the blow on his lower appendages could cause him his golf.

@eileenleyva Well I have seen Vico Sotto was named as US international Anticorruption champions awardee which makes me feel good that there are still politicians around that we can rely on. EDSA will still be celebrated tomorrow (Feb 25) so your not that late still.. Well if that will affect his career then I guess he needs to retire now that his injuries caused him to stop abruptly.

@rsa101 Really? That is great. That Vico guy is probably giving more honor to our country than any of the old trapos. He's setting the example. Sarah Elago of Kabataan also. Hoping Tiger recovers. Just that in the meantime.

Yeah, Woods was in an accident; but he was taken out of it by "a prying tool & an axe, NOT the jaws-of-life." https://www.upi.com/Sports_News/2021/02/23/Tiger-Woods-injured-crash-Los-Angeles/7651614109663/

@eileenleyva Yeah, "Jaws of Life" sounds much more equipment-worthy than 'ax and a crowbar.' And the department-chief corrected them here:

It is amazing the equipment they have. I was lucky I had a demonstration of a fire station and they showed us the equipment they have.

Life can be cruel. I lost count how many celebs passed last year, many of whom I wasn't even aware of.

Kobe Bryant and Tiger Woods overcame the odds of human frailty. I do pray Woods come out of this wreck a real survivor.
