Why They Call It "Occupational Therapy"

Going into one of my 'depression-states' (looking at my situation, speculating on how it's probably going to force people to look at me, etc.), I finally got to the question 'What am I going to do about it?' (in different words ... maybe I'll be more-exact later, but that's not "the point I'm getting to.")
I thought about 'if most people complain about the things I complain-about, you would tell them to "Get a Life!"' But the deal I'm complaining-about involves 'the fact that I CAN'T "get a life" ...
'I mean,' I continue talking to myself, 'what do people MEAN when they say "Get a Life"? ... They probably mean 'forget about "this obsession" and get lost in your occupations (yes, your job; but also your favorite shows, your housework, your cleanliness, your diet, your family's problems, etc.)
That's why they have Occupational Therapy ... mostly to "occupy" the minds of recovering patients, so that worry & depression & hurtful thoughts can't find a place in them.

I don't think I have it so much as "as disease," but more of 'a nasty habit of seeing how bad things are & speculating how much worse they'll get.'
But thanks for listening.
