In 1980 the winners at the Grammy Awards were Song of the Year for The Dobbie Brothers "What a Fool Believes," Album Of the Year for Bill Joel 52nd St, Best New Artist Rickie Lee and Best Disco Record Gloria Gaynor "I Will Survive" In 1984 George Michael was at number one on the US singles chart with "Father Figure" it was his sixth number one, In 1993 Whitney Houston was at number one on the US singles chart with "I Will Always Love You" she stayed at the top for 14 weeks which was the longest ever US chart-topper and the song became the second biggest-selling single in the US In 1999 Britney Spears was at number one on the UK singles chart with "Baby One More Time" she stayed at the top for two weeks. The song became the biggest UK selling single of the year

It was the most popular but I also love the simple way Dolly Parton sang it as a country type song @DianneN If you remember this was in The Beat Litle Whorehouse in Texas and she was singing about Burt Reynolds who played the sheriff she was in love with

I can't stand Whitney's version of that beautiful Dolly Parton song. But, I'm sure Dolly cried all the way to the bank, so who cares what I think. Just know if you ever get in my car you're going to hear Dolly's 1974 original!
