I enjoy finding obscure, unusual facts online. Sometimes they might be strange, sometimes informative, sometimes relatable, funny or just odd. I'll let you decide what category these facts I found are to you. SHOELACES Have you ever lost that plastic tip at the end of your shoelaces? Funny how a little thing like that has such an important function. Yep, it keeps those laces intact and from fraying, which incidentally, has happened to my favorite pair of snow boots. Do you know how they ever get those clear plastic pieces on the laces? I didn't but here is the answer: They use a special process where a special machine wraps plastic tape around the end of new shoelaces and uses heat to melt the plastic onto the shoelace. A kind of bonding process. Now the obscure part.... Do you know what they call those plastic ends? FRUIT STATUS What do you think is having social status today? A certain profession, having wealth, being born into nobility, or perhaps having fame of some kind? Well, I'm sure there are many examples, but you would never figure processing a certain type of fruit would give you status in society. Well, during the 18th Century in England a certain type of fruit did mean having social status. Yes, really! Do you know which fruit it is? Hint... It starts with the letter P. CHEATING HUSBANDS I imagine any husband caught cheating would be in a world of trouble with their spouse. Anger and eventual divorce come to my mind. And in an extreme case even murder. But did you know in one country there is an ancient custom where she can commit murder and not be prosecuted. I guess that's one way to finalize a divorce! There is one catch... no weapons. Well then how does she kill him and get away with it? Hint... it's something she might use to grasp something with. Aha! Hope you enjoyed these interesting, cool, obscure facts. Any comments on this bizarre information? Which fact did you find the most unusual? Till next edition... Source- Google

Without googling, I know not the answers to any of these, but interesting. Maybe the fruit is passion fruit, or persimmon?

I think it's pineapple! I know they were symbols of hospitality around that time period, and that's part of why they would carve pineapples into furniture. They were often at the top of bedposts.

I know how the plastic ends of the shoelace are called (aglet). I do not know about the fruit, I know that the 1700s venison was the meat which was a symbol of the highest social status. Men in Italy could kill their wife in case of cheating and not go to jail "delitto d'onore" was called. This did not apply to women.
