We always take our shoes off at the door when we come in or out on the deck or porch. I don't want to track things inside the house all over the floors, is why. Do you take your shoes off at the door?

@stephcjh Even my guests are not allowed in the house wearing their shoes, I have guest slippers to give them.

In Asian household, it is important to remove your shoes before entering the house. Some would have indoor shoes,

Right. I take off shoes that are worn outside but I do wear house shoes inside of the house at times. Those aren't ever worn outside to get dirty.

Yes... every time I go into the house. I was brought up that way and carried on the tradition!!

It’s also their habit to leave their shoes at the door here in NZ when you visit. For the house occupants, they leave their shoes inside the garage or pick them up and put them on a shoe rack inside the house near the door entrance.

That is a good idea. Some people walk outside and inside with their shoes on, tracking dirt into the house.

We take ours off at the door. When I visit someone I follow their lead.

True. I take them off at home but I hate to at someone else's house if the floor isn't clean.
