Beautiful Moon Tonight

I went outside a few minutes ago and caught a glimpse of a beautiful large moonrise on the eastern horizon. It was just spellbinding to see.
My only disappointment is that my camera on my phone can’t capture the full essence of what my eyes see.
So if you have a chance, take a look outside and gaze upon a nearly full moon. If you can see it, you’ll be glad you did!

Moons and sunsets are my favorites. Same concern as you, my camera phone cannot capture the beauty of both. I'm glad I see it and enjoy both firsthand.

I always love watching moonrises and sunsets, and will go out of my way to get a good view of either. I don't mind that I can't capture a good photo, because it is so much better seeing it with my very own eyes.

People take out their camera phones to record and take pictures of everything. There is a certain beauty to that but I feel like they are missing out on the bigger experience when they see it through their phone.

@allen0187 I don't blame them thought for wanting to capture the moment on their camera. If I could have gotten a good moon photo, I would have snapped the picture so I could gaze at it over and over on nights where no moon is present.

@moffittjc I had the same blurred photo last night when I used my phone. The one I shoot a few weeks ago using my camera was a lot better.

I was able to take a really interesting photo of the moon with my camera when I was camping last week. The whole night sky—including the stars—were crystal clear in the photo, but the full moon appeared to be shimmering like I was viewing it underwater

When we had the last blue moon I tried to get a picture of it but it just kept coming out blurred. It was beautiful, though.

Nice! I took a pretty good moon shot the other night when I was camping, but it was with a high resolution camera and the file is too large to load here on myLot. But it's a beautiful photo.

Given the time difference, it probably hasn't risen yet where you live. I stepped outside and saw it just as it was coming above the horizon. It was beautiful.

I saw the nearly full moon I think was Friday before the fog started rolling inand the last two nights it has been quite foggy and starting to fog up again tonight. (I broke down and bought girl scouts cookies the other day when a troop was in front of Walmart. It does supports a good group and I sold them as a kid. Besides they were a lot cheaper buying them from the girl scouts thanwhat I saw online at Amazon. they were a shocking 3 timesplus more and to me that is highway robbery

You have fog rolling in during the evening? I usually don't see fog here in Gainesville until the wee hours of the morning.
Speaking of Girl Scout cookies, I need to restock on my supply, it's getting low. I better load up before they stop selling them!

@BelleStarr Same here. I can get great photos of just about everything else, except the moon. I've even taken some amazing sunrise and sunset photos with my iPhone, but when it comes to the moon its no dice.

@moffittjc We had bad weather, too, but it happened to clear up just in time. It made my day and made me cry after chatting with Doodles. It stems back to a promise I made him make 2 days before his demise. There as a full moon out that night, and I pointed to it and he looked up at it. I told him that I would see him in it from then on. I don’t even care if it’s a sliver of a moon. I sound crazy, but it helps me so much. I’m still missing my baby boy so much.
