Sorry , but I need you. I need your wise suggestion. Last night Pay Pal emailed me and it seemed so urgent. It said I have to immediately replace my Password. Then led me to open my account and there I saw to reset my password. The problem now is I cannot open my old cellular phone bearing the number connect to Pay Pal. I emailed PP to let me in, so I can change my Ph number direct to their site. The same replies to contact them but when I wrote my message it still directed me to open my account. Finally, I found my old phone and thankful it is not yet expired.
The issue now is to have me send to them the Code, but no Code shown in my cellphone and there were three attempts to resend the code, but then, it flashed on screen " SORRY, YOU CANNOT IDENTIFY YOURSELF, thus I can no longer open my PP.. I have money there 6,700.
I am not in the good mood this time. I wanna be active again here, but PP shut me down.
May I know if I reapply if I could still get back my money. I lost my inspiration.

PayPal will ALWAYS address you by name in any email they send out. I'm 99% certain that this email began "Dear Customer ..." or something similar.
The very first thing that the scammer would have done once he had access to your account would have been to change the password and the phone number, so that you cannot use the verification code sent as a text message because it will be sent to whatever number the scammer has changed it to.
You will have to be very persistent (but polite, of course - PayPal are only doing their job!) and contact them by email and/or phone. PayPal do have various ways of verifying that you really are the rightful owner and may ask you for other information in order to verify you.

@cacay1 You should not give up. PayPal do have a duty to protect you, even though it was your fault that your account was compromised.

You opened PayPal from the email that was sent to you? You should never do that. Any time a company sends you an email directing you to do anything, you open a new page on your pc or phone and enter their site from the new page.
The reason for this is to keep someone from sending you a spam email. They send these emails hoping the person will use their password in the email so they can steal the account and any money contained in the account.
I don't know how to fix it when this has happened. I know you should be able to call PayPal and talk to someone and explain to them what happened and ask for their help in reestablishing your PayPal account. You also should ask @GoAskAlice to suspend payment to your PayPal account so more money isn't lost.
I have called him to this discussion. Let's see what Mr. A. says about this.

JJ is right. It's much easier for the user to remove her PayPal ID herself than for me to do it. I would have to log in as her and do exactly what she would do herself. The only time when it would be necessary to seek my help would be if there is a problem removing the ID, which can happen very occasionally. I would then have to double check and ask Bugsy to fix it.

@GoAskAlice Thank you. I wasn't sure if there was anything else you could suggest to her about the PayPal account. I've never experienced trouble with mine and thought you might have more experience with that.

@May2k8 Thank you my friend. I will create a new email add for pay pal use only. I feel my heart heavy for this pain. I failed to analyze the situation, maybe because I am a very busy person. In fact, this evening I administered a delayed prelim exam, I just left the exam link that expires at 8:30 pm. My students started to take the exam at 6:45 and ends 8:30.

I'm sorry to know that. Yes, you can try to call PayPal as they have a number which is accessible in our country. You may try this number, +1-402-935-2050. This is what I always tell my friends who are starting to work online. Never ever open any link from the email. If you want to open you PayPal account or any online account, make sure to access your site directly from the browser. There many phishing emails which would compromise your account if you open. I hope you could still recover your PayPal account.

@cacay1 I tried the number but unfortunately, I could not connect. But I found another way and that is through their PayPal Facebook Page where you can message them directly. Hope it helps.

@Lucky15 I am sure PayPal can ask you to reset your password but I am not sure if you'd get an email from them about it or if they will tell you to do that when you try to log in.

If the emails sound fishy that means it is not really them emailing but someone pretending to be them.

Oh my! You've been scammed again, Ms. Erly. I hope this gets threshed out. Unfortunately, I guess your P6,700 is already gone. You can perhaps create another email account and a new PayPal account and update your information in Mylot with these. I am really very sorry for you and I hope you can have this problem solved.

@sunrisefan , I have to call the head office first and I schedule myself to call them tomorrow afternoon at 1pm. Do you think it's expensive to call their head office or create a new account? What can you suggest? My sister won't allow me to call via our landline phone, she was angry at me for being careless.

You should send them an email containing your registration details and tell them to send you the login details confirmation email.

Sounds to me like you fell for a scam to steel your personal information. Paypal will never e-mail you telling you need to change your password. If you ever recieve any e-mail like that in the future, you need to delete it. My advice to you would be to go to the paypal website and louge a complaint.
