I decided buy my own apartment. I mention it here how I would like to buy it and solve my situation. My landlord is great man but I want something my and stop paying rent. It is not easy decision since big money is involved - about 25 000 euros. I called first seller and price is to high for me. Apartment is good, good position but I don't want to have to big loan and paying it for next 20 years. Some say that is normal but I don't have family or girlfriend so I don't need know big space or expensive. Tommorow I willt try get number from another seller and call third one. We will see how it will past. Any advice from your experience?

I hope you find something suitable. I guess my only advice would be not to over-commit yourself.

@mrki444 Yes, or even with a big loan, make sure your finances aren't stretched to the limit. You need a bit of a buffer against emergencies - car trouble, sickness, a major appliance breaking down, etc.

@JudyEv I calculate that. I will not give all my savings. I also have prepared some emergency money and I will not touch it. I know, it will bring few more months longer loan and interest, but better safe than stuck in debt.

You first need to have a budget. Then consider: - Location and Size - Budget -Builder's reputation - No black money/ extra expenses demand by builder. - Full documentation.

I don't know what the market is like where you're from. I bought a house, but that was four years ago. I do know that if you don't have the money to buy it outright you'll be stuck with a mortage payment. Here 30 years is common.

I don't want to so long mortage. I have nice savings so I don't need entire loan. Also 25 000 euros here is not big for smaller apartment.
