Why do you have tattoos?

I have two tattoos. One is Saturn because I had a dream about that. I later found out that since I am a Capricorn, that is my ruling planet - whatever that means... And one is an Orca, which is the most beautiful animal in my opinion. I want one more, a dove with the colors of the American Flag in memory of 9/11.

UGH! Those men and their thoughts lol, my husband is a tattooist by trade as well as a piercer, now he's come up with a better one, a squirel running up from his ankle to his upper thigh, then on the other leg, blood drops and the squirrel sitting at his other ankle eating bloody nutz,, geeze he is definately inventive:)

Oh that's cool! My cousin and 2 other girls that she was very good friends with from a very young age did something like that too. They each got 3 sets of smally footprints on their thighs. They look pretty cool and they symbolize the 3 friends always walking together.

Yes, it is a liftime committment. Well, you can have them removed, but I have heard that it's expensive and painful. My husband wants one, but he's not totally sure what he wants so he's going to wait. He may never get one either.

I have one tattoo at the moment on my left ankle of cherries. I don't know why I picked cherries. I know I love them and I have manythings with cherries on them. I think they are a cute fruit and sure taste good. Then there could be a kinky side to the cherry tat. *eg*

I have one tattoo. It is of an american flag, I got it about ten years ago. It is right about my right shoulder blade.
When I got my tattoo I was wearing a white shirt and it ended up bleeding through the bandage, and got my shirt all bloody, my wife kinda freaked out at all the blood and made me promise that I would never get another one... so that is why I only have one.

i don't have one b/c i can't do the whole needle thing but if i did it tould be a dragonfly that what my mom's mom had and for some reason i've been obsessed sence birth with them lol

I don't like needles much either, I just keep my mind off it while it's happening. The paid doesn't last that long either...

I have an Ankh, which symbolises the eternal nature of life.
A Cartouche, which is a symbol of protection, and I hope to one day tattoo my childs name inside it in heiroglyphs.
And an Eye of Horus, which symbolises balance.
I look to all of them in times of need. They really help me on a personal level.

I love when people have real reasons for the tattoos they have. I had a boyfriend once that got one because he was in a wedding and that's what all the guys did. When it was his turn, he pointed to one and said "I guess I'll get that one" he had no reason...

Man, that's a drag. I have a friend that tried to have one done over another one and that turned out pretty bad too. My son got his when he turned 18 - I tried to discourage him because I thought that was too young. I hope he'll be happy with his.

Yeah, I know a few people that have done that. I have heard that it's very painful to have them removed. I thought long and hard on mine, they weren't just a passing fancy.

My nephew has been trying to talk me into getting one. It's not the needles that bother me because I've had too many of them stuck into me to be afraid of them. Anyways, it's the money. I just don't have the money get one done. If I did get one it would have to be something that dealing with horror because I love horror movies, books, toys...anything!
