The WILL that never leaves the table..

Its been on more than six years since I first drafted it.
First it was persuading dad to open dematerialization account. Dad was so vehemently against it.
My contention was the kids will have to do it, as otherwise, there will be lengthy procedure for devolution of the assets.
2020 made him realize the risk of aunt not surviving exists. So last May 2020 he opened an account in her name.
Did he dematerialize the scrips? No. Why not? First there was the lockdown, and then some repair jobs in which he and I got embroiled and then some tax matters and some monumental blunder which he is hell bent to continue with. I have already mentioned that out here sometime ago.
So last month and a half, I managed to nag him and get the thing moving. There is a discrepancy still for which I expect some sort of resolution today or tomorrow. The need to be consistent with nominees and WILL is something that the advocate also told him, as did the senior personnel at demat office. But who is listening. Yeah..I have hell. Each part of the WILL takes ages to convince.
There has been misspelling of the name. I say use alias in the WILL or also known as in the WILL. Dad says we will close the account. This morning the argument has been about this.
I opt for short cut and dad opts for methods that are indefinite. Six years.
Respecting parents is fine. But how do you get important work moving with road blocks at every step? Stress increases because it needs to be done, as of yesterday.
Mentally exhausted. If it were not for myLot, and my humorous friends ..I would be in Mental Asylum by now. Thanks everyone...keep smiling..keep your humor. It helps us, I don't know if it helps you. Hopefully, it does.

My mother wrote only a few lines on a piece of paper, signed by her with two witness, to confirm that everything had to go to my brother and I in equal parts. It was finally not needed, as that was what we would have got by the Italian law, but at least we knew that this is what she wanted.

When assets are divided into several bits then the procedure becomes lengthy. Couple that with randomly furnishing the names of nominees, with changing the spellings in the names. Naturally some method needs to be evolved if the names differ in the bank from those in passports and other legal documents. That is what I was trying to do, and that is where dad is kinda arguing and arguing.
