Sloan Stanley, 18, admitted that she had beginners luck when she purchased a $5 dollar Cash Cow Instant game at the County Harvest Apple Market in Meriden Kansas a few days after her 18th birthday. Sloan won the grand prize of $25,000 dollars which she will use to enroll at Fort Hays State University in the fall. Her goal is to attend college debt free with the use of her lottery winnings which is a wise choice for her since learning is the way for her to have a wonderful life.

How idiotic can one be to appear in the media with one's real name and photo as the winner of so much money. The girl won't have a quiet minute anymore. She'll have loads of 'friends' now who're drawn to her because of the money.

Its really not that much money here but I get what you are saying and that does happen with the big lottery winners. They actually have support groups here because people found out. I will take that problem every day of the week though. Its easy, watch, piss off. You never were so cool when I was all poor.

@crossbones27 You are right how money changes the amount of friends that a poor person gets before they get rich.

I know what you mean since I have heard the horror stories of lottery winners having new friends who take their lottery winnings to clean them out.

Not a lot of money, but I would still gladly take it. I do wish they would make it law to allow winners to remain anonymous if they so choose. Some states allow it, others do not, and I think Kansas is one of those states that do not allow the option. Good for her though, and I am glad she will make good use of the winnings.

If I won a huge lottery prize, I would also like to stay away from having people who I am since I have heard the horror stories of fake relatives asking the winner for money.

I hope she can continue her education debt free. Have you ever written anything about your life here? If rather read that than need stories you find.
