It is time to get rid of things not being used.

As I am cleaning my house, I am going through stuff an bagging it up to get rid of. My husband usually takes it to work with him and gives it away to whoever wants it.
We have sold some of the things at times too.
I am glad someone takes it and gets some use out of it. We have dropped stuff off at the local Goodwill at times too if no one we know wants it.
Do you go through your things and give things away or do you try to sell it?

@stephcjh I do this a lot! I have a lot of stuff that I need to go through and just like yourself, I will either drop it off at second hand stores or try sell them. It's very satisfying getting rid of things especially if you can make extra cash for it.

@stephcjh I understand what you mean. Sooner some things get out of the house, the better.

I've done my fair share of that over the years, yes. However, there's a lot of things that's better used as rags or trash.

@kaylachan Oh my gosh. I am constantly picking up after my husband. He is starting to help more now though after me complaining so much about it lol.

@stephcjh Sometimes I hate doing it, but my husband is a bigger pack rat than I am.

Same here. It all depends on what it is or if I can find someone who wants or needs it.

Any materials that my relatives do not need go to the local Goodwill stores.

Agree. We have to declutter at least 2x a year so that the unnecessary things not needed will not mess up the house. That way the house will be organized.

I have been decluttering for years. Most of it goes to Goodwill or the Salvation Army.

Yes, I use Goodwill and local clothes donation bins. I've sold some items through Craigslist too. It is nice to not just throw something out but to find someone else who can use it.
