Weed Eaters, Lawnmowers and Blowers

Went out to enjoy my coffee in the screen room earlier. Interrupted by the noisy machinery that starts this time each year.
Lawnmowers, weed eaters, blowers, etc. Seems like all the neighbors decided to work on their yard today.
I had a solution to the noise. Music with headphones. Yes, it works. I have been listening to several favorites already. I have forgotten about the other noise.
Music is truly food for our souls. And sounds so much better than the noisy lawn equipment.

Ah, that has't really started here yet but it's only a matter of time.

@CarolDM Does it boil down to a neighbors habit or something more like a neighborhood lawn care specialists habit?
Oh, I'm doing Microsoft Rewards today. Hopefully I'll remember to do it every day.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Good for you and your rewards. You will get in a routine. The neighbor behind us owns a landscaping company, so he has his crew out here, and two others are doing their own.

I had to mow some yesterday too. Our yard is fine, but my parents is growing.

The technology is there to have noiseless lawn equipment. Hell, we've proven it with our electric cars, so nobody can say they can't do it with the lawn equipment too. I guess people are slow to change to new technology. I saw at Lowe's the other day they now have battery-powered (cordless batteries) riding mowers. It's a step in the right direction.

@CarolDM I have never heard these fancy Dyson's and LG cordless vacuums run before, do you know if they are any quieter than regular corded vacs?

It's still too cold for that here; but next week it's warming up; so I imagine they will start with the noisy equipment.

I agree. Listening to my favorite tunes can greatly improve my mood!

I got some AirPods for my phone to drown out the noise, and to serve as a hearing aid of sorts (you can use the phone’s “listen live” feature with them).
And yes, the lawn mowers and weed eaters are noisy. But I’d rather hear them than the snow plow!

@CarolDM — I do too, but occasionally I do have to hear what someone says.

@CarolDM Really good idea! I'm not really bothered by these sounds unless I'm trying to sleep or trying to listen to the TV. Often lately one of my neighbour's is drilling something. That annoys me a lot as it's right next door. (we live in units so it's very close and loud).

@CarolDM I'm very sorry to know you experience that Carol! I can relate to certain noises which causes that reaction. Like thumping sounds or loud stomping sounds.

Sounds like it is spring knocking there and people are getting ready to beautify their yards. Music with headphones is a good idea. How about you? When are you planning to work in your yard?
