It’s been awhile

Hey, Mylot. It’s been awhile since I’ve been here. I’ve been busy working full time and raising not 2 teens but 3. My kids best friend moved in when he turned 18. He had a rough go of things for a few years and I asked him not to run away and to be patient and that if he really needed a place to stay then once he was 18 he was welcome to come stay with us. I have a 2 bedroom apartment so my soon to be 18 yr old daughter shares the master bedroom with me and my son shares the room with their best friend. Olivia is now a full time high school student (I used to homeschool) and she works part time at my job. Alexander passed his GED exam on the first try last year and is still in the nextgen program at his local community college. This week he will take the ACT exam. For anyone who doesn’t know, that’s the college entrance exam. It determines things like merit based financial aid, what kind of college will accept you (Ivy League vs community college), or if you’ll have to take remedial classes in things like math and English so that you can advance appropriately. The ACT is especially helpful if you’ve never taken an SAT. My son didn’t take an SAT since he used to be homeschooled prior to join the nextgen program. My foster son, Little C, as I call him - he dropped out long before moving in here and is currently unemployed, but he’s about to apply for some jobs and probably the nextgen program as well. He says he’s going see about donating plasma temporarily to get himself a few buck in the meantime. Life is definitely busy right now. The kids all get along but like real siblings all three bicker incessantly sometimes. Lol We jokingly call Lil C my spirit child as I always wanted 3 kids and he fits perfectly with us. It’s like he was always a part of the family. He introduces me to everyone as his mom. He wasn’t raised by his bio mom so it’s not weird. Anyway, I hope that everyone has been well. I’m going to try and catch up with fellow mylotters this weekend when I’m off from work.
