In 1964 The Beatles filmed the last train scenes for their movie "A Hard Day's Night" They had to film for six days on a moving train and travelled 2,500 miles by rail In 1966 The Beach Boys recorded "God Only Knows" The song was on their Pet Sounds album It was on the B-side of "Wouldn't It Be Nice" when released in the US. In 1968 Bob Dylan was at number one on the UK album chart with John Wesley Harding. The album marked his return to acoustic music. The album stayed at the top for ten weeks. In 1974 Alvin Stardust was at number one on the UK singles chart with "Jealous Mind" However, even though it did not make number one I love his song "My Co Ca Choo" and have included that here In 1975 Telly Savalas TV's popular Kojack was at number one on the UK single chart with his version of the song "If" originally by Bread. In 1985 Dead Or Alive was at number one on the UK singles chart with "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" The same year Mick Jagger released his solo single "Just Another Night" It was on his debut album She's The Boss Also the same year REO Speedwagon was at number one on the US singles chart with "Can't Fight This Feeling" and stayed at the top for 3 weeks. In 1991 Clash has their only UK number-one single with "Should I Stay Or Should I Go" It was on their album Combat Rock In 1996 Take That had their eighth and last UK number-one single with their version of The Bee Gees song "How Deep Is Your Love"

God Only Knows is my favorite Beach Boy song Thanks for sharing music history, I enjoy reading them. I learn from them. I didn't know Telly Savalas had a hit song, and a copy of Bread's If. Interesting. Now I need to remember to go check it out on you tube later on

I remember seeing a Hard Day's Night in the theater. The girls were all screaming. We stayed to watch it a second time. Can't do that today!
