Ten in the morning but we've stopped work for the day.

It’s 10.00am and we’ve just knocked off for the day. It might be early but it’s rapidly warming up and we’ve had quite a strenuous morning.
We took down two more trees this morning and had minor dramas while doing so. These are in a thick thicket (haha – thick thicket) of ti-tree. We started in the neighbour’s side and had to clamber through a dry creek bed then go through a fence before cutting a bit of a path to the trees.
As Vince cut down branches, I would lug them back through the creek bed to a pile of brush a short distance away. So all went well till Vince got the chainsaw jammed. Luckily we had wedges with us but no sledge-hammer. It took a while but eventually we freed the saw. We were hot and sweaty by the time we finished but now we’d had showers, coffee and banana walnut cake and all is right with our world. I hope it is with yours too.
The photo is of one of the trees we took down this morning.

@allknowing I wish having house-maids was the culture here - as long as I wasn't one of the maids.

@JudyEv yes Kasey has been so nervous about letting him go to school. I am home schooling him. So far it has gone really well.

I'm glad neither one of you got hurt doing all that... but I bet you'll be feeling it in the morning. I hope you both soaked for a while in Epsom salts to help take the soreness out of the muscles tomorrow.

It looks like a lot of work. Is it safe for you guys to take down such big trees by yourself?

It's the second one I've made. Vince loves it, there isn't a lot of sugar in it and it's a really simple recipe. That's three things I can make now.

That is a good time to stop. Jamming the saw is never fun.

We have some beautiful trees. It's a shame to take them down.
